The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has said that in co-operation with the Municipal Education Directorate and Inquiry Co-ordinators in schools, it is monitoring the process of subvention with textbooks and school materials for all students.
MASTI said that based on Administrative Guide 13/2026, students from 6th to 9th classes do not need to buy textbooks, as they say they are carried by previous generations.
“Management of this process has each conducted school and, according to municipal reports, it has been successfully developed”.
Any parental obligation to buy texts for students of these classes is illegal. The 80-euro subvention is destined only for the purchase of notebooks and other school materials”, the announcement said.
On the other hand, MAStTI said that in terms of price changes presented at the school textbooks, concerns have been addressed at the Central Market Supervision Inspectorate.
“As far as price changes presented in the textbooks, we explain that MASTTI had no role in determining them, since there was no tender process and therefore no price negotiations. These concerns have already been addressed to the Central Market Supervisor Inspectorate (under the MINT) and to the Competition Authority”.
Any tendency for illegal manipulation or profit from publishing houses will be treated by these relevant organs, taking the necessary measures within the framework of the ongoing” legislation.
“Linked to textbooks for students of non-communication communities and students with legal care, we stress that, as in past years, subsidies are guaranteed for every student who follows the lessons in the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. Our common goal is not to leave any students without textbooks”, it says further in the announcement, broadcasts Clankosova.tv.
This minister then indicated that verification measures have been stepped up this year for beneficiaries of the subsidy of textbooks, guaranteeing, according to them, that no one will benefit without confirmation.
“For the current year, MAStTI has increased verification measures through additional modules, where school co-ordinators inspect and verify each student at the respective school, ensuring that no one benefits without verifying”./Periscopi/
