Ymer: All ready for the new school year, concern remains only the supply of books

“As far as the educational framework is concerned, educational staff are available and have started work on preparing the school year since 18 August. During these two weeks, they have made all the necessary preparations for the start of their new school year. ”

“While in other technical aspects, school preparations, and others, we can say most of the school facilities are finished. Some schools are in renovation procedures, and they, in all likelihood, will not be able to start over time. These would have to start the works earlier; some works start by the ministry of some of the municipalities,”, Ymer said.

Ymer added that trouble, according to the SBASK, would be in store for students. He is critical of the method that the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation is practicing, making parents buy their own books and then making their own subsidies.

We think there's gonna be trouble for the textbooks. Even this year, the ministry has chosen a wrong form for supply of books. We think and stand that books would have to be bought by the ministry and distributed to schools so that on Monday all students could be equipped with books. Last year by the end of September, it lasted until students were equipped with books; we expect that this year to be the same problem,” said Ymer.
