Witkoff: Putin has agreed that the US and Europe offer security guarantees to Ukraine

US special envoy Steve Whitoff has said Sunday that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has agreed at his summit with President Donald Trump to allow the US and European allies to offer Ukraine a security guarantee similar to NATO's collective defence mandate as part of a final agreement [...]
“We managed to win the following launch: So that the United States can offer protection similar to Article 5, which is one of the real reasons Ukraine wants to be in NATO”, he said on the “show. State of the Union” of CNN.
Witkoff has added that it was the first time he had heard Putin agree.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, speaking at a news conference in Brussels with Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky, has said that “welcomes President Trump's readiness to contribute to security guarantees similar to Article 5 for Ukraine, and that the “Coalation of willers” including the European Union ♫ is ready to do its part, the timings.
Witkoff, offering some of the first details of what was discussed at Friday's summit in Alaska, has said the two sides have agreed on “strong security loans that I would describe as radical changes”. He has added that Russia has agreed to make a legislative commitment not to pursue any additional territory in Ukraine.
Zelensky has thanked the United States for the latest signals that Washington is willing to support security guarantees for Ukraine, but has said details remain unclear. /Periscope/
