A shocking event has occurred in the Italian town of Gubbio, where a 53-year-old Albanian-born was arrested by Carabiniers during the past night on charges of keeping his ex-wife and two minor children, 7 and 11, locked up in the apartment, exercising physical violence against them.

The operation was realised in close co-operation with the Perugia Prosecutor and was launched thanks to a signal coming from Albanian authorities through consular networks.

They had received information that an Albanian citizen was forcibly supporting his former wife and children on Italian territory.

Following contact with the International Police Co-operation Service in Rome, an immediate search plan was launched Friday morning by the Karabinier Company in Gublio, including patrols, immediate verifications and technical means to locate the author and victims.

Just an hour later, the rule forces managed to stop a vehicle run by 53-year-old, within which the former wife and two children were in a visible state of concern.

Immediately after seeing the Carabinieri, the wife and one of the children sought help, confirming their first doubts and completing the operation successfully.

The reconstruction of the event turns out that the husband had deceived his ex-wife into coming to Italy on July 30th along with the children, but after they arrived, he had taken their passports and mobile phones to stop leaving.

During the days of his forced stand, he had also practiced physical and psychological violence against them.

After the author's ban, the Carabinieri placed their mother and two children in safety. But for the husband, in addition to the charge of illegal deprivation of freedom and domestic violence, the charge of illegal possession of a knife is also a burden.
