This was related to the political crisis and the fact that the Parliament for months failed to be held.
The deadline until a decision by the Constitution is expected is 8 August, as this has been the date set as a temporary measure.
Someone mentioned going to the polls as the possibility -- someone who only allows open voting, the chairman of the Initiative, Fatmir Limaj -- claimed that the 30-day term had not begun to flow since there was no vote.
However, the answer is expected soon.
Albulen Haxhiu, who is also presidential candidate of the Parliament, said the elections seem to be the only option in the situation.
Kosovo's Constitutional Court had announced its new ruling, which prohibits deputies from Kosovo's 9th Parliamentary Legislate any decision and action following the passage of its 30-day deadline, or the 26 July date.
The Constitution made it known that this interim move, where MPs could not make decisions or actions for the constitutionalisation of the Parliament, will be in force from July 27th to August 8th.
In its ruling, the Court considered that any decision and action taken after July 26th until the tribunal's decision regarding the requirements could cause irreversible damage to the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo and the functioning of key institutions in the Republic of Kosovo.
The tribunal reportedly estimates that there are circumstances of public interest, including the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo that connects with the establishment of state institutions after the elections for the Assembly.
“Therefore, the ban on any decision and action by elected deputies of the Republic of Kosovo after 26 July 2025 is in public interest, necessary for preserving constitutional order and the best interest of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens”, It was the decision.
The interim decision is related to the case that the deputies of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) contesting the Parliament's decision to vote the Commission for a secret vote, within the framework of the continuation of the Assembly's 9th Constitutional session, held under the transcript of June 29th 2025.
However, the Court issued this ruling for temporary measures “ex-offio”, without the request of the forgers.
In early July, The PDK has turned to the Constitutional Court for assessment, opposing the Vetevendosje Movement's request for members of the Commission for secret voting; casting the commission's own vote; and breaking the hearing after the commission's disapproval.
Similarly, the LDK has asked the Constitutional Court to clarify the constitutional norms and regulation of the Kosovo Parliament's work in connection with the continuation of the constitutional hearing on June 29th, following the June 26th act of judgment. This party believes that the latest continuation of the constitutional hearing has become “in full opposition to” with the Constitution of Kosovo, as well as with the findings of the Constitutional Court's act on 26 June./Periscopi/
