The Vetevendosje movement has said it opposes party and personal-based and non-professional appointments, following reactions to the appointment of member of this party, Mentor Hyseni, as director of the Kosovo Tax Administration. This party has even said it has never criticised professionals, even from other parties.
“Move V EAVED! has never criticised professionals, even from other parties. We have been and are opposed to party and personal appointments with no professional and integrity basis. In many institutions our political representatives continue to work and promote many officials who are confidently opposed to our political subject. Because we've been trying and still trying to support the job for the country, not for ourselves”, it says in a response to the VV media office for TIME.
Wednesday's Finance Ministry announced that Hyseni has been elected the new director of ATK. The process for this post was said to have developed transparently and professionally. Hyseni in 2019 was presented as the VV's new membership. That was what sparked reactions in civil society and opposition parties.
While praising Hyseni as a professional in the finance and public sector, the LVV has said the selective process was carried out by institutions that “is very good that a new generation of professionals are taking responsibility”.
According to the VV, no one except for the political positions is selected why our political subject” is linked.
Because if that were so many others who have decades in the Movement would have been placed in positions. Mr. Hyseni as many other Kosovo professionals have co-operated, and some have joined the Movement. But because of the nature of commitment they've been and are only in the professional sphere and not organisational”, it says in response.
The VV has said it encourages professionals to compete in public office.
