Unprecedented: The prosecution demands that Thaci stop visits by 14 persons, including 3 brothers

Limiting contact with a close family, or allowing only five monthly meetings with friends and other relatives, is not enough for the prosecution. Not even wiretap 24/7 with Albanian translators.

The Specialised Prosecutor's Office has demanded that the former president be completely banned from visits with the three brothers, Ghan, Nazmi and Blerim Thaci.

As Klan Kosova learns, these are included in a list of 14 names intended to be temporarily eliminated from Thaci's life until the end of the trials, both for war crimes and for obstructing justice.

“Even though specific measures have been set to minimize the risk of obstruction, the SPS has learned through public sources that some visitors who are of concern continue to visit Thaci at the Centre of Pre-burging. To be sure, the danger of Thaci conveying illegal messages and instructions during privileged visits can never be completely eliminated - even at the Centre of Pre-prisonment. The preliminary procedure judge is confirming this individual who has requested additional information from the defense before deciding to apply for the 14-name SPS.
