According to the announcement, leaders have agreed that this week marks an important moment for Ukraine's future, while also thanking US President Donald Trump for his efforts at lowering Vladimir Putin's negotiating table for a ceasefire that would end the bloodshed.
Our support for Ukraine is unwavering. International borders should not be changed by force, and Ukraine must have strong and reliable security guarantees to protect its territorial integrity as part of any accord”, the official statement said.
The United Kingdom has also confirmed that Europe is ready to support this initiative and will continue to work side by side with Trump and President Voldymyr Zelensky for a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine.
We remember that today, August 13th, before the Trump-Putin summit, to be held in Alaska, a crucial call was held between the US president, Ukrainian president and European leaders. The main theme has been ensuring a ceasefire, holding Ukraine in talks and securing territorial integrity.
