KFOR Commander Enrico Bardonini has hosted the US Deputy Secretary of Defence for European and NATO Policy, David Baker, at KFOR headquarters in Pristina today. KFOR said the meeting between them served as a “extraordinary opportunity to share views on the security situation in Kosovo [...]
KFOR in the announcement said the meeting between them served also as a “an extraordinary opportunity to share views on the security situation in Kosovo and on the way forward to better support a renewed political commitment to dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade”.
Meanwhile, KFOR said the top US official has “that the US is steadfastly committed to the KFOR mission in Kosovo, stressing continued support for regional security and stability”.
KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially.
KFOR works in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Law Rule Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders. /Periscope/
