Regional powers -- Egypt and Turkey -- condemned Israel's plan Friday.
Ankara said this marks a new phase in what it called <x0genocide and expansionist” policy in Israel, calling for global measures to stop its implementation.
Israel denies this description of its actions in Gaza.
Speaking at a joint press conference in El Alamein with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, after a meeting even with Egypt's president, Abdel Fattah al-Asi, Fidan said the Organisation for Islamic Co-operation (OIC) was called at an urgent meeting.
Fidan said Israel's policy aims to force Palestinians to leave their lands through hunger and permanently invade Gaza, adding that the countries have no reason to continue supporting Israel.
Israel denies that it is aimed at causing the Gaza famine crisis and says the Palestinian militant group Hamas declared a terrorist organisation by the US and the EU could end the war by surrendering.
“What is happening today is a very dangerous development... not only for Palestinian people or neighbouring countries”, Abdelatty said, adding that Israel's plans are unacceptable “”, writes REL, broadcast Periscope.
Abdelatty said he has full compliance with Turkey on the Gaza issue and referred to a statement published on Saturday by the OIC Ministerial Committee, which condemned Israel's plan.
The OIC Committee said Israel's plan represents a dangerous and unacceptable “escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and an attempt to strengthen the illegal invasion”, warning that it would destroy any possibility for peace”.
Mediating teams from Egypt, Qatar and the United States have been working for months to reach a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
The OIC called on the world powers and the UN Security Council to take their legal and humanitarian responsibilities and take urgent action to prevent” Israel's plan for the City of Gaza, while at the same time ensuring immediate responsibility for what it called a violation of international law by Israel. /Periscope/
