According to reports by international media, European leaders and Ukrainian officials have been informed by American officials, including President Trump of a plan offered by Putin to end the war in Ukraine in exchange for significant territorial concessions by Kiev.
French President Emmanuel Macron has indicated that at this meeting, which will be held in Alaska between Putin and Trump, Europeans should also participate, as he says their security is at stake.
The future of Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukrainian”, reiterated Emmanuel Macro during a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky before the summit to be held between US President Donald Trump and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Alaska on 15 August.
This meeting, likely intended to end the war in Ukraine.
” I just spoke to President Zelensky again, as well as Chancellor Merz and Prime Minister Starmer.
We remain determined to support Ukraine, working in the spirit of unity and based on the work undertaken within the Coalition of Volnets.
Ukraine's future cannot be decided without Ukrainians, who have fought for their freedom and security for more than three years now.
Europeans will also necessarily be part of the solution, as their security is in danger.
I will continue to co-ordinate closely with President Zelensky and our European partners”, he wrote.
