The Trump opened the August meeting, pointing out, according to him, lowering gas and food prices and improving American production during the first months of his second term, the AP reports.
He criticised environmental targets supporting windmills and insisted that his administration “is not allowing any windmill to be built”.
They're destroying our country. They're ruining all of them, Trump said.
“They're ugly, they don't work, they kill your birds, they're bad for the” environment, he added.
While criticising solar panels, he did not say he would not allow them.
Later during the meeting, Trump announced that he would impose the death penalty for any murder in Washington, DC.
“We will request the death penalty”, he said, calling a measure “very strong deterrence”.
It is noteworthy that Washington DC and nearly half of US states have lifted the death penalty, while studies of the Death Sentence Information Centre have not found “meaningful results” that its use prevents crime.
In the end, Trump dismissed the accusations of being a dictator.
