Since Thursday, when he fled the detention centre in northern Mitrovica, Djordje Radomirovic continues on the run and there is still no new information on his whereabouts.
It has been several days since authorities have failed to provide any concrete leads to the capture of convicts, which is already considered a serious threat to public safety.
Radomirovic was sentenced in 2014 for killing a Serb person, M.V. from the village of Leshak, as well as the serious injury of the victim's brother.
He was in the final phase of his sentence, with only three years and 7 months left and classified as advanced, rightly working in prison workshops. He was even on a list of prisoners who could obtain parole.
His escape has prompted an immediate response from authorities. Kosovo police have established numerous checkpoints in the country's north and have engaged specialised units with the (K9) dog to locate, but without result so far.
Kosovo's correctional service has taken urgent disciplinary measures, suspending the director of the detention centre, a senior overseer and two correctional officials, while internal investigations are continuing to whiteen the circumstances of escape and determine responsibilities.
According to the Kosovo Police report, correctional officials have been interviewed, while citizens have been called to report any information concerning the fugitive, through the emergency 192 or to the nearest police station.
Radomirovic's escape remains a serious security issue, while authorities still find themselves on the run four days after his departure.. /Periscopi/
