With 82 votes pro, 5 against and 1 abstention, MPs then changed the constitutional amendment, enabling the submission to vote of two other bills linked to the establishment of Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office.
Against this vote were the timely opposition parties, which viewed the Special Court as unjust, selective and as violating the sovereignty of the state of Kosovo. According to them, this court was set up to judge only members of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
On the other hand, Government and the position of time considered this decision difficult but necessary to maintain Kosovo's international credibility and address war crimes claims.
Since its establishment, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against some of the highest political and military figures in the country./Periscopi/
