Relief has been thrown out of the air, using an A400 Spanish Air Force military aircraft.
Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Alvarez suggested that a total of 24 packages were dropped during the operation, each weighing 500kg, containing about 2,500 meals. He also underlined that trucks with Spanish humanitarian aid are currently parked on the Gaza Strip border and are expected to be introduced into enclaves in the coming days.
At a time when the humanitarian situation at the Gaza Strip deteriorates day by day, several Western countries, including France and Britain, have launched similar air shipments to support the residents of this region. Aids come as Middle Eastern countries face a dramatic humanitarian crisis, demanding urgent international intervention.
