Among the most affected areas remains the Blue Eye in Delvina, where intervention is taking place even with flight “Canada”, as well as Zhapokika in Polican, where 20 residents were evacuated the previous day and three helicopters were in operation, including two coming from the United Arab Emirates.
The most intensive operations are under way in Velcan, Trnovo, Kuc, Brataj and the mountain area with Gropa because of the spread of fire and broken terrain.
Meanwhile, many of the centres in Tirana, Dropul, Grams, Skrapar and Berat have been brought under control following co-ordinated interventions by fire forces, Armed Forces and volunteers.
The situation remains heavier in the mountainous areas of Fushe Arman and Mirdidi, where due to difficult terrain, fires are advancing, though more than 150 forces have been engaged on the ground.
According to A2 CNN, the Ministry of Defence and responsible structures remain at full alert to manage the situation and prevent further spread of the flames.
