Uribe passed away from his wounds, including two gunshot wounds.
Uribe was shot several times during a presentation in the Bogota election campaign. Two shots hit him in the head and another in the knee.
According to police, the suspected shooting person was a young man about 15.
The attack caused fear in many people in the South American country that there could be a spiral of violence like that of the 1980s and 1990s.
At that time, armed attacks by drug cartels and the killings of politicians were common.
