According to Albanian National Council Chairman Enkel Rexhepi, from 2020/21 to 2025/26, the number of students has dropped from 4,059 to just 3,650, meaning 409 fewer students, or about 10 percent decline.
Rexhepi has stressed that this trend is the result of migration, low history, difficult economic conditions, non-recognition of diplomas and equipment of addresses. He has warned that the situation is seriously endangering the future of the Albanian school in the Presevo Valley.
This impending risk, which directly affects the future generations of students and new Albanian generations in the Valley, should push us towards a more bold, more common and more determined approach to the protection and development of education in the Albanian language”, Rexhepi wrote on Facebook. /Periscopi/
