He has returned clearly from Moscow and Beijing”, Serwer told Free Europe Radio.
As for months-long protests against the Vuciki government, Serwer says the Serbian president has no one to blame but himself.
“Vucic has no one to blame except himself”, he says.
Commenting on the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry's statement about protests in Serbia, Cerwer also states Moscow will exert pressure on Vuciqi to suppress the protests.
“With Vucic and the Russians, there is always the risk of escalation or distraction from another destabilising incident in Kosovo”, he says when asked whether there is a risk of escalation and impact on regional stability.
Serwer sees protests in Serbia as “a genuine sign of popular discontent with the government's work”, but says demonstrators did not appear to have created a clear political alternative.
