Alban Krasniqi, a member of the CEC from the Vetevendosje ranks and husband of Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu, has called for the Serbian List not to be certified for the autumn local elections.
At today's CEC meeting, he described this subject as linked to criminal structures and as Belgrade's direct policy representative, the news broadcasts.net.
I'm looking for colleagues here that we don't qualify for the Serbian List. It is not only about candidates, but with the very character of this long-standing political subject of the Vuciqi regime and, say, of Belgrade's criminal structures,” said Krasniqi.
His statement is directly opposed to the findings of the CEC Office for Certificate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Donika Grovalla, who has found no legal reason to prevent the extradition of the Serbian List in reporting. According to official data, none of the 238 candidates result in a ban list by the KDR or relevant state institutions.
Also loaded with work at the American Embassy in Pristina, Annu Pratipatti, has demanded today that the Serbian List not be excluded from local elections. She stressed that Serb participation in the election process is essential to Kosovo's democratic legitimacy and that the United States is concerned about any efforts that would limit their right to choose and be represented.
