Acting director of Mitrovica's Centre for Pre-prisonment, a senior overseer and two correcting officials
Four officials have been suspended from work today, the director of the Mitrovica Centre for Prosecution, a senior supervisor and two correctional officials because the detention centre in Mitrovica has escaped inmate D.R.
The prisoner was sentenced to 14 years and 6 months in prison, of which he had remained for 3 years and 7 months. He was classified as advanced and, at the moment of his escape, was working on the institution's workspace. He was also on the list of convicts who could obtain parole.
Immediately after his absence was concluded, all internal operational procedures have been activated, and relevant security institutions have been announced.
The Kosovo Correcting Service has launched internal investigations to whiteen the circumstances of the event and will take all necessary measures to address this case, in line with legislation in force. Until the investigation is completed, the institution's director, a senior overseer and two correctional officials remain suspended from office.
