US sanctiones former Special Judge of Pre-Spec phase in Thaci case

The United States of America has imposed sanctions on the two judges and two prosecutors of the International Criminal Court. Among those sanctioned is Nicolas Yann Gillow, the preliminary judge who had confirmed the indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi.
The measures in question, As the U.S. State Department announced.to have been undertaken in line with Executive Order 14203, which “authorises sanctions on foreign persons involved in harmful actions by the JNP, which are considered contrary to the interests of the United States and Israel”.
According to section 1ʹa) (A) of this order, “have sanctioned individuals who are directly involved in trying to investigate, arrest, or prosecute protected persons without the consent of their citizenship state”.
The sanctioned ones are:
Kimberly Prost, judge of the JPN Trial Chamber.
Nicolas Yann Guillou, judge of the JPN Trial Chamber.
Najat Shameem Khan, vice-prosecutor at JPN.
Mame Mandiye Niang, deputy professor at JPN.
According to the announcement, Judge Prost has been sanctioned for her role in adopting the JPN investigations into American personnel in Afghanistan. Judge Guillou has been sanctioned for authorising the arrest warrants of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.
“Vice-prosecutors Khan and Niang have been sanctioned for continuing to support the considered illegal actions of the JPN to Israel, including retaining arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant since taking office in the JPN Prosecutor's Office”, the US State Department noted./Periscopi/
