Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia issued 574 fears and 40 rockets overnight.
In Lviv, a city west of Ukraine, Russian missile attacks and fears killed one person and injured two others, according to regional Governor Maxym Kozytskyy. Tens of residential buildings have reportedly been damaged by attacks.
In Mukachevo, in the Zakarpatija region near the western border of Ukraine, 12 people were injured in several missile attacks, according to the city council.
South of the town of Zaporija, Russian missiles hit inhabited areas, wounding an 85-year-old woman and damaging several residential buildings, local authorities said.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Syhbilia condemned the attacks and wrote on X that “in contrast to all attempts to end the war, Russia carried out massive attacks on Ukraine at night. Hundreds of fears, hypersonic, ballistic and floating missiles were launched against civilians and energy infrastructure”.
The honour said one of the missiles hit a large American factory for the production of electronic equipment in western Ukraine, causing major damage and casualties.
“A civilian building that had nothing to do with defence or the army”, he added, stressing that this was not the first time Russian forces have targeted American businesses in Ukraine. In this direction, he mentioned attacks carried out earlier at Boeing's office in Kiev.
The latest attacks were carried out several days after Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky met with US President Donald Trump, and European leaders in Washington to discuss possible security guarantees for Ukraine as the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.
Russia denies it deliberately targets civilian objects, but attacks are constantly targeted for homes, hospitals, schools and energy buildings.
Zelensky has said he has been discussing a $90 billion programme for the purchase of American weapons for the protection of Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials have also said that work has started for a military component of security guarantees. The US has said that European states must carry the main burden to provide these guarantees, and Washington will provide support in this direction.
Meanwhile, the August 18th talks in Washington ended with Trump's pledge that he will arrange a meeting between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as the US president met with the Russian leader on 15 August in Alaska.
Ukrainian president has repeatedly said he is ready for talks, but Putin has not expressed readiness.
European leaders have voiced scepticism that Putin will participate in the talks, without US pressure. Periscope
