This discovery comes after identifying the first inscription that mentioned the founding of the city of Istiniana Secunda as Dardan City.
The newly discovered inscription testifies to the construction of an episcopal basy and, according to Minister Ceku, constitutes one of the only known dedications of Justinian at the site of his descent.
“The preservation and protection of archaeological heritage has never been dealt with in this seriousness,” writes Ceku, stressing that research in Ulpiana and Dresnik is being conducted on public properties expropriated over the past year.
He adds that it is currently being worked with intensity at important archaeological sites, in conservation plans and management, in establishing professional capacities through international partnerships, as well as in scientific studies and publications.
“Archaeology continues to reveal our history. We continue with dedication of research and its defence”, the Minister Ceku concludes. /Periscopi/
