He has made this clarification after being asked by the Dabat Plus show moderator Ermal Panduri, whether his candidacy was independent or motivated by the prime minister.

“Normally, we talked about my potential candidacy, but this happened somewhere, no mistake, in March after the elections. We've been debating and I, at a moment when this topic came up, said why not, because I really want to introduce another face of representation of Serbs in institutions, not as if we've had the case so far”, he said at RTV Duguagjini.
