Protesters held banners and a large banner with the inscription: “Mitrovica wants a stable and strong Serbia”, stressing the demand for unity and opposition to blockades organised by opposition members and students in Serbia.
According to local Serbian media at the rally were also representatives and leaders of the Serbian List, the main Serb political party in Kosovo, Rtk reports.
Serbian List Chairman Zlatan Elek, Deputy Chairman Igor Simiqi, as well as mayoral candidates in the north, Milan Radojevic, Dragisa Milovic and Milos Perovovic are also seen at the rally.
The Kosovo Police units, which have been present to ensure public order and security, have been seen for the development of the rally.
Similar events have been held in several Serbian cities during Saturday. Protesters in these cities have claimed to represent ordinary citizens who oppose opposition actions, which they consider destabilizing. However, in some of Serbia's largest cities, marches or gatherings have not been reported. /Periscope/
