In a Facebook report Wednesday, the US Embassy's page in Kosovo has indicated that during the week Prattipati has met leaders of the Democratic Party, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Democratic League.
“This week, loaded with work, Annu Prattipati, met with PDK leaders, AAK and LDK to highlight a basic democratic principle: all Kosovo citizens should be able to vote for their representatives. Blocking qualified parties, through political or procedural tactics, undermines democracy”, said the embassy's announcement.
According to the announcement, it has also been discussed in connection with the formation of institutions. It has reminded party leaders that they have been chosen to resolve the challenges facing the country and has called on them for co-operation to fulfill the mandate the people have given them.
The parties have also announced the meeting with Prattipat. Memli Krasniqi, chairman of The PDK, it has said it has stressed the need for new institutions to be formed as soon as possible.
“The PDK will continue to act responsibly, in the interest of citizens, for institutional stability and remains committed to close partnership with the United States and our Western allies”, it wrote on Facebook Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the LDK has said that at the meeting it has been discussed on the situation created after the Parliament's failure to comply.
“in this context, the importance of handling this issue was stressed by the Constitutional Court, where the Democratic League of Kosovo has handed over the subject for interpretation. LDK representatives reiterated the importance for this institution to make a fair decision based on the Constitution and on the interest of institutional stability so that the country can emerge as soon as possible from the current political and institutional crisis”, said Wednesday's announcement.
And AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj has said he has notified Prattipat “of the Alliance's stance and our commitment to making direct contributions to the faster formation of new institutions that have emerged from the <x1 elections.
