KFOR said such patrols, conducted regularly, are essential “to preserve a visible presence, raise awareness of the situation and support stability in the region”.
“They [the patrols] play a key role in ensuring a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo”.
KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially.
KFOR said it works in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Law Rule Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
