The Police Union reacts after the attack on the two officials in the year: Unacceptable, violence should be immediately punished

The event took place in the village of Drobesh of the municipality of the Year, where three people suspected of attacking two police officials during the official duty.

In its official response, the union describes this act as a direct violation of the law's authority and requires that justice bodies be uncommunicational in punishing those who violate the security of police officials.

“Denial on members of police is unacceptable and requires immediate punishment. We call on justice bodies to act decisively towards anyone exercising violence against incumbent officials”, the Union's response reported.

In addition to calling to justice, the union has appealed to Kosovo citizens to respect the orders of police officials and support the police institution as the core pillar of order and security.

Kosovo's “Police are the shield of our citizens and the guarantor of the constitutional order, therefore it deserves constant respect and support”, further said in the communique.

The union has reiterated its commitment to staying in favour of any police official in fulfilling his legal and professional mission. The current case is being investigated by competent bodies.
