Police and Prosecution deny risk of electrical wire at Weyman Lake

Kosovo Police, namely the Regional Directorate of Police in North Mitrovica, have launched investigations on July 30th 2025 over statements by the head of the Kosovo Fisheries Association, which had stated in the media that water-ridden electric wires, which according to him, are at risk for citizens, have been observed in Lake Weyman. In this regard the same has been interviewed by authorities in the quality of the witness, where he has declared that during an action to evacuate boats without permission, he had encountered a water wire, which if activated, according to him, could be dangerous.
Police have also accepted a video regarding the case, and shortly after receiving information, relevant water border control units have undertaken search on the ground.
The verification has found that wires are not connected to electricity and pose no danger to public safety.
Also, Kosovo police announce that there has been no previous reporting on the issue.
After analyzing all evidence and information, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Mitrovica has concluded that no elements exist that make up any criminal acts.
Police call on citizens not to feel concerned or afraid, ensuring that any suspicious case is handled with high seriousness. /Periscope/
