Four police officials suspended after the triple murder in Gjilan

Sussed police officers are suspected of issuing or engaging in possible involvement during Mefail Shkodra's criminal activity with his boys, who escaped after committing the triple murder, in the centre of Gjilan, at the point of the day. The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has launched a preliminary investigation under which it will be investigated whether there has been any concessions or possible involvement of any Kosovo Police member in the criminal activity of the suspect declared in search of the triple murder in Gjilan.
Given legal authorisations and the importance of maintaining the integrity of the investigation and avoiding any influence on witnesses or evidence, the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has recommended today to the Kosovo Police the suspension of four police officials of the Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan.
Based on the recommendation of the IPK, a police sergeant and an investigator from the Regional Directorate's Regional Investigations Unit in Gjilan, a police sergeant at the Novobarda Police Police Station and a police official engaged in the International Police Regional Response Unit.
Kosovo Police Inspectorate, in co-ordination with the chief prosecutor of the Constitutional Prosecutor Gjilan, is conducting preliminary criminal investigations against the superiors over suspicion of involvement in illegal activities with elements of the criminal act.
Investigations are in the initial phase and include collecting material evidence, taking statements and other procedural actions.
