At the Foundation Court in Pristina, the Special Department, today (8 August) has been held hearings against Igor Popovic, assistant director of the so-called “Office for Kosovo” in the Government of Serbia, where the agreement for admission of guilt reached between him and the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo was approved.
Popovic has been brought into court in chains and appeared before Judge Kujtim Krasniqi and special prosecutor Firkrije Zejrullahu. With the approved agreement, the 6-month prison sentence, which is replaced by 3 thousand euros in fines, as well as the additional condemnation of the Republic of Kosovo's territory for a period of 2 years, reports “Battle for Justice”, broadcast Periscope.
Initially, the prosecutor said the agreement has been linked to full compliance with legal provisions, that the accused has been sufficiently consulted with his defenders, and that this agreement meets all criteria for being approved by the tribunal.
Even now, lawyer Milos Delevich continued, who said he stands by the agreement reached and that conditions have been met according to legal provisions.
