The Democratic Party of Kosovo has filed a complaint Thursday with the Constitutional Court to challenge the Energy Regulatory Office's decision, forcing over 1,000 and 300 businesses to switch to the free energy market.
Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Abelard Tahiri has said he called for the annulment of the ZRRE decision, since it hurts businesses.
“requested security measures”, he said.
Tahiri has said the complaint has been linked to the decisions of the Constitutional and Appeals Court, which rejected the PDK's indictment against the ZERE announcement.
The market liberalisation decision has entered into force on June 1st 2025, under which all companies with more than 50 workers or circulation of over 10m euros annually are obliged to switch to the open market. Not to be out of energy during a transitional period, more than two months of businesses were provisionally supplied by KEK as Last possible provider. But, on 16 August, their gap started.
About 8 percent of businesses that have been on the open energy market, according to the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE), have not yet signed supply contracts, and from Saturday they are without power./Periscopi/
