The former head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, has reacted following the Constitutional Court's recent decision, questioning the legitimacy of constitutional session chairman Avni Dehari.
“I think that a violator of the Constitutional Court's Constitutional Constitutional Court can no longer lead the constitutional session.”, Mustafa has declared in a motion for IndexOnline, criticising the way the process was led after the elections.
He has singled out the bias as clear and firm, stressing that the decision clearly shows who is exploiting citizens' votes in the face of constitutional order.
“The bias is clear, clearly shows who is exploiting people's votes to face the constitution and thus annulled the period of ridicule”, Mustafa stressed.
The vague questions about what will happen if the assembly is not established within 30 days,” has added further.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court, in the act pronounced on August 8th, has clearly determined that the election of the speaker of the assembly should take place by open vote. Also, it has been decided that a candidate could be voted for the post only up to three times.
The court has found that leader Avni Dehari has failed to comply with its 26 June decision, prompting all hearings held from 27 June to 6 July to be declared invalid.
This decision comes at a tense political time, where the assembly has not yet managed to constitute itself, opening discussions on the consequences in case of exceeding the 30-day constitutional deadline.
