Mistreated a citizen during the arrest, IPK recommends police suspension

Kosovo's Police Inspectorate recommended the suspension of a police officer under suspicions that he has exceeded police authorisations during the arrest of a citizen in Ferizaj, the Inspectorate said the event occurred last night before midnight when some police officials had signalled the ban on a similar car had not been halted. The inspector said that the event occurred last night before midnight, when some police officials, even though they had signaled stopping a similar car, had not been stopped.
First information reports that within minutes of police escorting the same car was banned and that there were three citizens in this car.
The “IPK investigators have emerged at the scene and have begun to take investigative action regarding the case after allegedly overtaking police authorisations during the use of force by a police official to a suspect (the vehicle leader), who has suffered bodily injuries and has admitted medical treatment”.
The IPK said investigations are under way in the direction of criminal acts “Kest treatment during the exercise of official duty or public authorisation” and “Equipment” whereas after consultations with the prosecutor the case will be handled in regular procedure.
“Based on IPK legal authorizations and on the interest of the IPK investigation has recommended the suspension of this police official. IPK investigators in continued consultation with the prosecutor responsible are expected to take other investigative actions regarding the occasion to clarify the circumstances of this incident”.
