Memli Krasniqi reacts after the court's decision: Those who chose the crisis, failed, chose the Constitution, won

“Today, the Constitutional Court sealed up the truth that for months we have lifted up with a loud voice: Vetevendosje has deliberately and deliberately blocked the functioning of the Assembly for narrow power interests, with actions completely outside the constitution,” has declared Krasniqi.

He has stressed that with this ruling, with the verdict of August 7th 2025, the Court nullified all arbitrary parliamentary actions from June 27th to July 26th; it found MPs have not implemented the constitutional decision on June 26th; that the decision by the Chief of the session was unconstitutional; and that the Commission for Secret Vote was illegal.

This is complete confirmation that the blockades, violations and arbitrary actions of the Vetevendosje Movement were not only unconstitutional, but also deeply harmful to our democracy and state. For six months, citizens were denied representation, institutions were banned from function, and the country was imposed on stagnation,”, he added.

Krasniqi said that in the face of this behaviour, The PDK has chosen the path of maturity and legitimacy. “As a Parliamentary Group, we turned to the Constitutional Court with firm faith to end this deliberate and dangerous crisis for democracy. Kosovo cannot move ahead with paralyzed institutions and with rules violated under the whims of power. So let this be a clear lesson for all, especially for those who have never known to respect the state: Kosovo needs functional institutions and leadership that respect rules, not violating them for power. We'll always be on the side of the Constitution and the citizens”, he said.
