Officials would not reveal the contents of the letter except that it mentioned the kidnappings of children resulting from the war in Ukraine.

The kidnapping of Ukrainian children from Russia has been a deeply sensitive issue for Ukraine.
Ukraine has called the kidnappings of tens of thousands of its children to be taken to Russia or to the territory occupied by Russia without the consent of family or stewards a war crime fulfilling the UN genocide treaty definition.
Moscow once said it protected vulnerable children from a war zone.
The United Nations Human Rights Office has said that Russia has caused suffering to millions of Ukrainian children and violated their rights since the beginning of Ukraine's full invasion in 2022.
