Melanie Trump's lawyers described the statement as false, derogatory, defamatory and stimulating “, calling it an attempt to damage its reputation and integrity.
In a recent interview, Hunter Biden son of current President Joe Biden aludoi for close ties between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, adding that “Epstein introduced Melanie to Trump”, suggesting a suspicious link between the figures.
In response, the first lady's lawyers sent a legal warning letter to Hunter Biden's lawyer, demanding an immediate withdrawal of the claim and a public apology, or face legal action for financial damages exceeding $1 billion.
According to the letter, Melanie Trump has suffered considerable financial and reputation damage because of comments that, according to her, are based on unproven sources and withdrawal articles.
Hunter Biden made the statement during an interview with director Andrew Callaghan, where he suggested that unpublished files for Epsthein would “imps” Donald Trump and the story of his encounter with Melanie.
Part of the claim appears to be referring to Michael Wolff, a journalist who wrote critical biographies for Trump, who in an interview for Daily Beast suggested Melanie may have been introduced to Trump through an Epstein associate.
However, after a legal letter from Melanie's lawyer, the Daily Best withdrew the article and apologized for any misunderstanding.
After the publication of this story, The Best received a letter from First Lady Melanie Trump's lawyer challenging the title and contents of the article.
After review, the article was removed and apologised for any possible confusion. ”
Donald Trump was formerly Epstein's friend, but has claimed that their relationship deteriorated in the early 2000s, when Epstein allegedly adopted employees from a spa at the Trump resort in Florida.
According to a 2016 account by Harpers Bazaar, Melanie met Donald Trump at a party in November 1998, organized by a modeling agency.
At the time, Trump was just separated from his second wife, Marla Maples, and later married Melanie in 2005.
There is no official evidence linking the couple's first meeting with Jeffrey Epstein.
This event occurs at a time when pressure has increased on the White House and authorities to publish the unpublished Epstein case documents, thought to reveal names involved in his criminal activities.
Trump has stated that he will publish the data if the president is re-elected, while the FBI and the Justice Department have confirmed in July that there is no “client” incriminating about Epstein collaborators.
Melanie Trump's lawyer, Alejandro Britto, referred them to BBC A statement issued by her deputy, Nick Clemens, saying:
First Lady Melanie Trump's <x0... Avokats are actively seeking immediate withdrawal of accusations and apology from those who spread malicious and slanderous lies. ”
Waiting for an official reaction by Hunter Biden or his legal representatives, the issue is expected to trigger new waves of political and legal tension in the US pre-election period./Periscope.
