Secretary - General NATO, Mark Rutte, will visit Washington today, where he will participate in an important meeting organised by United States President Donald J. Trump.
This meeting will also include Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and other European leaders.
Trump and Zelensky are reportedly expected to have a bilateral meeting before European leaders join a broader conversation.
The White House did not respond to a request for comments on time details.
“If peace is not possible here and this is going to continue just as a war, people will continue to die by thousands... unfortunately we can end up there, but we don't want to end up there”, State Secretary Marco Rubio said in an interview with the “Face the Nation” of CBS.
The meeting comes just days after the meeting of extraordinary importance that occurred between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
According to the announcement, the meeting is expected to focus on key security and stability issues in Europe and beyond, strengthening co-operation between NATO states and other global partners. RR
