The KEDS has announced that massive cuts of businesses that have not been released into the free market, according to the Energy Regulatory Office decision.
The KEDS said that today they have launched the break-up of around 450 businesses, while said more than 1400 electrical distributors have been identified.
“As we informed a few days ago that in recognition of the Energy Regulatory Office's decision-making of August 13th 2025, KEDS could not legally allow the continuation of electricity supply for those companies that have not yet reached agreements with one of the providers licensed by the ZRE. On the basis of this, and in respect of the legislation in force, we are informing you that today we have begun breaking down about 450 businesses, which have not yet heeded constant calls for linking the agreement with a supplier, despite meeting the conditions for open electricity access to the open market”, KEDS said in the statement.
For this, KEDS said it has mobilised teams throughout Kosovo.
Also, we inform you that, on behalf of these businesses, more than 1400 electrical distributors have been identified, of which more than 600 are smart digits that will be removed from the distance, while the rest will physically crack down on these companies, for which KED has mobilised teams on the ground throughout Kosovo. KEDS continues to encourage these consumers to deal with a Z-launched supplier RRE, whose list is found on the ERE site, to ensure the continuation of the power supply”.
The ZERE decision to liberalise the energy market has entered into force on 1 June. Under the decision, all companies that have more than 50 workers, or circulation of over 10m euros annually, have been forced to cross the open energy market. /
