Limaj declared this through Facebook after participating in the protest opposing Special Court injustices. Limaj further added that he has proposed an independent institution for professional monitoring of this court, Insander writes.
“Kosovo demands justice and requires nothing more than truth and equality before the law! Unfortunately, Parliament has not carried out its duty to monitor the law enforcement of the Special Court. Five years ago, I proposed to parliamentary groups that the Kosovo Parliament use the opportunity to contact independent and specialised institutions, which provide professional monitoring.
These institutions, known in the field of international justice, have extraordinary experiences in similar cases previously monitored at The Hague. An institution monitored by Parliament would have increased the credibility and transparency of the tribunal's work and would have helped prevent the rights of the accused there.
Both then and today, I believe that this has been and remains the only way through which a serious state engages responsibly in protecting its rights, which are at risk of flooding.”, close Limaj, seeking freedom for former KLA heads.
