Police have prevented a case of smuggling goods to the village of Zrnosek in the municipality of Leposaviqi.
There, a person suspected of illegal entry and transport of pork was smuggled.
According to the official announcement, during regular patrols by the border unit, the person has been detained with initials B.M. (born in 1991), which had illegally entered the territory of the Republic of Kosovo from Serbia through unauthorized roads.
The suspect was running a car with local license plates, in which about 22 packs of pork, each weighing approximately 10 kilos. Police stress that combating smuggling remains one of its priorities, not only as a criminal case, but also for the protection of public health”, the police report reportedly broadcast Clankosova.tv.
Regarding the case, the caretaker prosecutor has been announced, who has ordered the launch of the criminal case “Unauthorised Cross-border crossing or border line”. The seized goods have been sent to the customs terminal for further procedures from customs units.
Kosovo police continue to appeal for co-operation.
