The lack of functional institutions and the failure of international agreements are bringing huge financial losses, hindering Kosovo's transformation into a more competitive and stable economy, reportedly in the media-set communique, Klankosova broadcasts.tv.
“According to LBK data, from the beginning of 2024 to the first half of 2025, Kosovo has lost about 600m euros due to the inability to obtain international funds in key sectors such as environment, energy and culture.
At a time when the Western Balkans are gaining advanced financial support from the European Union, Kosovo risks falling behind, losing over 60m euros in pre-finance, part of the 880m-euro EU Growth Plan package. These funds are vital for strategic investments in infrastructure, energy, digitalisation and sustainable economic development.
The institutional stalemate has blocked not only funds from the EU, but also:
90m euros from the World Bank frozen due to the collapse of the Parliament,
Business confidence is weakening, foreign investment slows down and budget projects are not being implemented.
The LBK estimates that Kosovo is losing over 1.2m euros a day due to the institutional crisis, a heavy burden for a fragile and developmental economy.
The Kosovo Business Connection calls on all political subjects to act with responsibility and urgency to end the institutional stalemate, which is seriously damaging the state and citizens.
Every day without functional institutions is a day more towards economic recession, international isolation and loss of historical opportunities for development”, it is written away in the announcement. /Periscope
