“Foundation Procurory in Prizren announces public opinion that, in co-operation with the Kosovo Police Director for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK) A unit in Prizren, on the 1808.2025 date, has arrested defendant I.O., official of the Kosovo Forest Agency.
This arrest is the result of specific investigative measures, which the Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren has applied for a certain period of time, providing powerful evidence and untenable evidence. The investigation and collected evidence has revealed that the suspect, misusing his official position, has exceeded the competencies with the aim of personal gain, accepting money from different citizens and promising mediation for the regulation of the documentation needed for renting property from the Kosovo Forest Agency.
Currently, the suspect is in a 48-hour ban, with the suspicion given that he committed criminal work “The use of official position or authority”, according to Article 414 of the Republic of Kosovo Criminal Code (KPRK). Within today, the prosecution will file a request to the Court for the appointment of the detention measure.
The Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren stresses that this case is a clear example of the effectiveness of particular investigative measures and of our determination to crack down on corruption. The prosecution remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening the rule of law and bringing to justice any individual who abuses public office and conflicts with law”.
