As KFOR reports on Facebook, two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, equipped with special buckets for water (Bambi Buckets), threw water several times to help put the fires under control that threatened local communities and infrastructure.
“During a five-hour operation, the crews performed 12 jumps, distributing over 2,500 litres of water in affected areas”, KFOR said, Klakosova.tv reported.
Peacekeeping Mission NATO in Kosovo said this action testifies to its ability to respond quickly to emergencies, within its capacities, as well as its continued commitment to the protection of local communities and the support of civil authorities in Kosovo.
