According to the latest UN research, there are about 10,000 electricity units in Kosovo linked to about 1,060 businesses, of which over 700 have completed the process of signing the agreement with one of the five licensed suppliers, while fewer than 300 businesses remain, representing approximately 3,000 electricity units.
After the final decision by the Contemporary Court: Second Scale, which gives the Energy Regulatory Office ( ZRGE) in implementing the regulation for liberalisation of the energy market, ZRE and KESCO/ KEK has indicated that they will cut off supply for all businesses that do not have valid agreements.
The GDP has called on all businesses that have not yet signed the contract to do so urgently today in order to avoid power cuts and the economic consequences that may be caused. “Respecting the law and judicial decisions is necessary for a regulated and fair market. The KB will continue the legal battle and co-operate with institutions and energy suppliers to ensure a more transparent and fair process for businesses”, said in response. /Periscope
