Israel says it has hit Hezbollah targets south of Lebanon

Israel's military said on Sunday that it has attacked Hezbollah's military infrastructure in southern Lebanon, in the course of attacks on targets in the neighbouring country, though more than nine months have passed since an Iran-backed cease-fire was reached. Sunday attacks also targeted [...]
Sunday's attacks also targeted underground positions near the Beaufort Castle, a crusade fortress known in the country as Qalʹat al-Shaqif, southeast of Arnoun, after Israel discovered military “” in the area, the Israeli Army said in a communiqué.
“The existence of the object and its activity constitutes violations of agreements between Israel and Lebanon”, the army said, justifying the attacks.
Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported two air strikes near the town of Nabatieh, the REL reports.
No casualties were reported, while residents reported hearing powerful explosions during the attacks.
The attacks come amid tensions added along the Israeli-Libanian border, despite last November 27th ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, aimed at ending more than a year's fighting, including two months of fierce fighting that weakened the Libyan movement.
Under the terms of that agreement, Hezbollah would withdraw its fighters north of the Litan River about 30km from the border with Israel ʹ, leaving security in the southern region to the Lebanese Army and UN peacekeepers.
In exchange, Israel was expected to withdraw fully its troops from Lebanese soil.
However, Israel has kept troops in five countries that it considers of strategic importance.
Beaufort Castle is located north of the river but near the Israelite border./Periscopi/
