Acting Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has said that the Constitutional Court judge, from the ranks of the Serb community, Radomir Laban, is suspected to be an accomplice of the Intelligence Agency in Serbia (BIA) and that there are close reports with chief terrorist Milan Radojic.
At a news conference Sunday, Haxhiu has said that the Constitutional Judge poses a threat to the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo.
Serbia has never given up efforts to destabilise Kosovo and prevented its development in all its forms. A major success of our security and intelligence institutions has recently been achieved in documenting Serbia's activities of spying and sabotage in Kosovo. One ended in condemnation because he himself pleaded guilty. Serbia has also historically used and uses the agency today in order to extend its influence to any neighboring country, especially Kosovo. Among these examples is that of Radomir Laban”, she originally said.
According to Haxhiu, Laban had been arrested for being an intelligence official in Serbia's Customs in 2006 and that he had been sentenced to six years of freedom. “This case is believed to be the moment when BIA compromised and organised the shift to Kosovo... as it was released remains enigmatic, but Serbia is still active in his arrest. Enigma remains his appointment as well as his position in the position of Judge”, she has said.
The incumbent's minister has said Laban has very close reports with Banjska's chief terrorist case, Milan Radojic. She has said Laban has benefited from real estate and household employment thanks to these ties. Haxhiu has said Laban still benefits financial revenues from Serbia.
While criticising the chain of institutions for inaction in Laban's case, especially after President Vjosa Osmani's conference, Haxhi has called for the prosecution to launch investigations, or if she has started publicly telling them about it. It has also invited the Constitutional Court to initiate the procedure for Laban's dismissal.
President Vjosa Osmani the day before withdrew her request to the Constitutional Court regarding the legal consequences following MPs' failure to constitutionalise the Parliament within 30 days. She said she did so after Radomir Laban was appointed a rapporteur. Osmani disclosed that Laban was considered a dangerous person for national security and constitutional order, according to reports by the security institutions of the 1920s, 2017 and 2024./Periscopi/
