In its account in “Facebook”, Haxhiu has denied Tahiri's claims to the Institute for Investigation of War Crimes.
“Abelard Tahiri, with biased amnesia, continues to manipulate falsely. The Institute for Investigation of War Crimes was removed in 2018 during Abelard Tahiri's term as minister of justice. So Tahiri closed the state mechanism for recording Serbia's crimes. The period until 31 December 2000 is proposed and voted by the PDK government in 2011, when Law No. 04/L-023 for Missing Persons. This law clearly stipulates that dealing with missing persons cases covers the period of January 1, 1998, December 31, 2000. Later, on August 3, 2015, Specialised Chambers voted in the country, with a time jurisdiction of January 1, 1998, December 31, 2000. The law drafted by our government and adopted by the Parliament is very clear and leaves no room for manipulation. It applies to the war period, that is, from January 1st 1998 to June 20, 1999”, Haxhiu wrote.
