Hamas did not give details about the circumstances of Mohammad Sinwar's death, but published his photos along with other leaders, describing them as <x0mmarti”.
Israel had claimed to have killed him in an air strike in May, but this is the first time news is officially confirmed by Hamas.
After his death, at the head of Hamas' armed arm all over Gaza, it is expected to be Izzy al-Din Haddad, a close associate of Sinwar, who currently oversees operations in northern Gaza.
According to Reuters agency, Mohammad Sinwar had gained great influence on Hamas' military structure, especially after his brother's murder, one of the main co-organists of the October 7th 2023 attack on Israel.
